I joined the board in 2013, and I’m currently the Past President. My daughter, Anne, started at Hilltop in June 2009 as a Turtle, then was a Cricket, Salamander and Meadowlark before being part of the last Hilltop kindergarten class, Sunflower. My son, William, started as a Bumblebee, then was a Ladybug, Salamander and Meadowlark. They have afterschool care at their school, but they will be back in the summer as a Bobcat and a Bison. I’m considered a public member of the Hilltop Board.

I’ve worked at KU Dining since 2001. I am the Access Administrator, which means I program the retail registers, manage the database that holds the dining plans (residential students, staff and conferences), answer the KU Dining information line, and other tasks that arise. There have been a lot of changes – new structure, new director, new buildings – since I started. It’s rarely boring, and I get to talk to people across campus. Hilltop has brought a new layer to my connections on campus.

Hilltop has been an amazing place for my family. I joined the board when Hilltop was transitioning directors and I thought it would be good to help. In the time that I’ve been on the board, there have been some big changes, internally and around our property. I’m so excited about Hilltop’s future with a strong administration and our focus on making the center the best place for families and staff. I currently serve on the Teacher/Staff Committee and chaired the Strategic Planning Committee, 2015-2016.
