Jana Tuttle

Secretary, Public Member, 2015
Primary office:

I am a public member of the Hilltop Board. I joined the board in 2015 right after starting in the Recruiting and Onboarding Center within KU Human Resources. I grew up in Lawrence and earned my bachelor’s degree at Kansas State University. I joined the Hilltop Board because think that early childhood education is a vital start to learning and developing the next generation. This is the time children can discover the love of learning, social interactions and being good stewards of their environment. Several of my friends have children attending Hilltop, so I love being involved in their lives and knowing that Hilltop is contributing to their success.

Currently I am a Human Resource Generalist at Berry Global, formerly Berry Plastics. I am responsible for recruiting, onboarding, employee relations and benefits. I work closely with management and staff to provide learning opportunities and a safe place to work. I am on the Safety Committee, and I am the ISO Team Leader for the HR Department.

I enjoy volunteering and contributing to the Lawrence community. I am an adult volunteer for the First Presbyterian Church’s youth group. I enjoy learning and growing with the teenagers as they explore their faith. I am also on the church’s governing board. I am an active member of PEO, Chapter CW, a philanthropic educational organization that focuses on providing education opportunities to women. I also serve on the board of directors for the Social Media Club of Lawrence.

In between all the official duties, I am in a bowling league and I am always training for the next race, bike race, or obstacle course coming up. I have completed 2 half marathons, several obstacle course mud runs, Bike MS ride, Hilltop Hustle, Lawrence Thanksgiving day run, and the Maple Leaf sprint triathlon to name a few events.
