Director's Message

We are very pleased that you want to learn about our program.

Hilltop has been providing high-quality care and education for young children on the KU campus since 1972. We are extremely proud of our reputation for providing warm, loving care for children while simultaneously offering a developmentally appropriate educational curriculum for every child. We feel strongly that children learn, grow and develop best in a planned, yet flexible environment that offers them a variety of choices. The curriculum is designed to accommodate the individual needs and interests of our students.

Our teachers offer learning activities and experiences that encourage creative and intellectual expression, stimulate learning, and promote a warm, accepting and flexible learning climate for children. Each child's role is to be active, experimental, exploratory and selective.

Hilltop staff will continue to work hard with the KU and Lawrence community to provide the best educational experience for our children and their families. It is important that we are all working together today with the goal of a better tomorrow.

We encourage any parent or community member to please share their thoughts and ideas with us. We want to hear what others think about our work, and how Hilltop can continue to grow and adapt to the world around us.
